For years, I’ve followed the advice in the Artist’s Way. I just wasn’t very regular about it. Excuses were more easily made when I had no sense of “accountability” for my daily pages.
Then I found 750 Words. For whatever reason, the daily reminder of my “streak” is just enough to keep me going…and going…and going.
I’ll be a Space Bird soon! And I’m humbled by the statistics, like having written enough words to fill five or six novels. What an eye-opener!

750 Words has encouraged me to write everyday, something I’ve never done. I started a story that I never thought I would get around to, and already it’s blossoming with constant work. This really helps me to be more free with my words, and lets them flow endlessly. Thank you!(:

Over the first 2 days of NaNoWriMo 2014 I have written 5,661 words!! Already a triumph over the pathetic 508 words for NaNoWriMo 2013. I find I come here before my morning NaNo writing to vent stuff that is not related to writing (this morning a download issue on my computer) just to get it off my chest. And then I review what I wrote the previous day and plan a bit of where I hope to go on this day. Only the third day but I am feeling pretty darn good about how it is going! There is no way I could be this excited to get to my NaNoWriMo writing without 750words. Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!!!

When I first joined, I did it for an extra credit assignment for English, and when I did, I couldn’t imagine actually writing 750 words every day. Now I’m going for my first NaNoWriMo, all thanks to you guys. You rock!

Feed me! I need more badges to slake my thirst!

After turning into a Phoenix three months ago and living off thin air, I developed a voracious appetite for Badges.

In quick succession I made mincemeat of the tasks required to become a Night Bat, Early Bird, Pterodactyl and gained enough weight to get to Double Flock status.

But hard times are on us again. Another 150 day before Pegasus rises!

I need an app for my iPhone. I access to my phone so much more often in my day with two kids under two, than I do a laptop or a computer. I like that I’m forced to make the conscious effort to sit and write my words, but some days it’s a fight.

Since I got a smart phone I love using it more as a tablet and I would love to be able to use it for more writing. This site has always helped. Thank you so much for the site.

The line that I am typing on needs to stay in the middle of the page. I don’t know if this is dependent on browser – I usually use Silk on my kindle fire. I don’t like having the line I am typing on be at the bottom of the screen.

Thanks to Buster and Kellianne for patiently maintaining this site and encouraging the novice writer. Writing everyday has given me insight to my soul and I have discovered the rippling connections in living. I can reread my journaling and see where the dots are all connected and synchronicity is alive. Thank you for helping me discover a new universe.

I have been on this site for over three years and have built up a streak of 810 days and a total of nearly 1.4 million words. The fact is that morning pages has become a habit and i would no more think of missing a day than stopping breathing. This site has gone a long way to convincing me that i am capable of becoming a published writer.

I got to 250000 words yesterday on a 275 day streak. Quarter of a million words! Crazy, I say.

That’s a lot of writing I never would have done otherwise. Thanks for that Buster and co. Anyone else who’s just getting started with these words or a veteran, I hope you keep on going and enjoy the journey :)

I would appreciate it if text could maintain the original, basic formatting as displayed on the writing page once a writing day ends.

I like to make outlines and lists and other schematic writing activities, but in trying to re-read those entries, I am faced with the difficulty of losing that spatial arrangement. Indentation is obliterated, list items that were typed on separate lines are merged into a continuous paragraph format. I appreciate the simplicity of display and the lack of formatting tools with which to fidget, but I also would like a sliver more of control over how the final text is displayed once it is saved as a past entry.

Also, I love 750words. Obviously. Every single word. 750 words worth of love here. :)

I see all these cool little notations next to names… Blue stars, green stars, little pie charts variously filled, and of course the badges… but I can’t rollover them and see what they mean. I know they are there to inspire, and goad progress, but they are cryptic. I’d add rollovers to them to at least say what they represent / why they are there (lack of them = particularly frustrating when they are next to my own name… though “frustrating” certainly over-states the issue). Bonus-better would be to be able to click-through on them to a description of what they are (for each… or a lightbox with the description or whatever). Of course… I got over-curious and used “inspect element” to see what the stars were about… but I still don’t know what the pie charts are. (((All that said, keep up the awesome.)))

Been gone so long… but now I’m back. Three days in a row doesn’t seem like much right now, but I’m focusing on how much it might grow into.

some people think that it can be a waste of time to write here 750 words of really dump in place of writing a novel.. hmm.. novel with 750 words a day – I must consider it! :) but I personally feel that writing here has different and very special part to play in my life: I discover myself, I can talk to the darkest and most denied part of my personality – the one that influence each and every step I make, but stays covered – which is the ego; the emotion(s) that constitute our very vision of ourselves; my 750 words have made a tremendous transition through last 2 yrs – at the beginning I was not able to write one single sentence – I was feeling so retracted! but in the meantime I realized that anything that refers to me does not need to be wrong, it just is, and I want to know it and freely decide how my life should look like – thank you for that :)

Tonight I needed to write a 500-800 word blog post for someone, and with my 639 consecutive days of Words on this site, I was able to accomplish the task more easily and more fluently than I would have been able to before. This site has helped me return to writing after a lengthy break. Although I’ve been a member almost since it started out, it is only more recently that I’ve come to appreciate the true value of having somewhere private to ruminate, think, dream, vent, rant and express my thoughts and ideas.
