Terms of Service
These are the rules for using 750 Words. We've kept them short and in plain language. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your information.
Who we are
750 Words is run by 750 Words, LLC ("we", "us"). You can reach us at [email protected].
Who can use 750 Words
You need to be at least 13 years old, or older if the law where you live sets a higher age for using a service like this one without a parent's consent.
You're responsible for your account and for keeping your password safe. If you think someone else has got into your account, tell us.
Your writing is yours
You own everything you write here. You give us permission to store, process and display it as needed to run 750 Words: saving your entries, counting your words, working out your stats, and providing the features you use. We never sell your writing.
Your profile page (username, streaks, badges, membership level and similar stats) is public, and anything you choose to share, such as a day's stats, can be seen by whoever has the link.
The Privacy Policy says more about how your writing is handled, including the AI features and how to turn them off.
Memberships and payment
You can try 750 Words with a free trial. After that, continuing to write generally requires a paid membership. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time from your account page.
Payments on the website are handled by Stripe, so your card details go to Stripe rather than to us.
Refunds. Because there's a free trial, payments are not automatically refundable. That said, we generally offer refunds when requested. Whether to give one is our decision, case by case. Email [email protected] to ask.
Please don't
- break the law using 750 Words, or use it to harm anyone;
- try to get into anyone else's account or data;
- attack, overload, or probe the site for weaknesses without our permission;
- scrape the site, or resell or repackage the service;
- post content in public or shared spaces (such as profiles or community areas) that is abusive, or that you don't have the right to share.
If you do, we may suspend or close your account.
Closing your account
You can close your account at any time from your account page. Deleting your account explains exactly what happens to your data when you do.
The service is provided as it is
750 Words is a small service run by a small team. We provide it "as is", without warranties of any kind, and we can't guarantee it will always be available or free of errors. Keep your own copy of anything you can't afford to lose; you can export your writing from your account.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date below shows when they last changed. If you keep using 750 Words after a change, the updated terms apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA.
