Hello lovely human!

You've used the version of 750 Words that was built in 2010 and has been chugging along like a trusty steam engine that could for many many years. And you're now interested in trying this shiny new version that COULD NEVER REPLACE THE WEBSITE YOU KNOW AND LOVE (*whispers* but which is also designed from the ground up to... do exactly that... shhh!).

A few things that will make this transition as smooth as possible.

You'll need to create a new account.

Even if you're a long-time V1 member, you'll still need to create a new account here. You can use the exact same email and password if you like (though I encourage you to use a password service like 1Password so you never have to remember passwords or use the same one) but they will still technically be different accounts.

You will be able to link your new account to your old one.

Instructions for how to do that are here.

Linked accounts will maintain their streaks!

They'll also import badges and even lifetime account status (lifetime means lifetime, does it not?). The text of V1 entries isn't yet imported or searchable from here but that is also planned.

You can keep using V1 for a while

Both sites will be running, but entries from V2 won't get imported into V1. We recommend testing V2 for a while until you feel comfortable using it instead of V1, but there is no rush to do that if you're not quite there yet. We won't be turning V1 off until everyone is happy with V2, and even then with plenty of heads up about it.

We're here for you!

Transitions are difficult and we're doing our best to make this smooth. If you have any questions or concerns please write to us at [email protected].
