The Good Patrons of 750 Words

A Note of Inspiration from Kevin Aldrich

1 cup

Sometimes writing is just hard. But, the only way to make it easier is to do it. That may be why writing is such a conundrum for so many people. Because, it’s easy to write. We do it all the time. But, to write well, to communicate truly, completely, to pour an image and an idea and an emotion from one mind to another is so sublime, so fickle, so unpredictable as to be like catching strands of silk in a hurricane with a pair of tweezers. That might be part of the reason why writers, true writers, those who pursue the craft with lifelong dedication, seem to be a little odd, a little different from “normal” people. And there’s only one way to find out if you’re one of those kinds of people: get out there, strap yourself to a tree, super glue your tweezers to your thumb and forefinger and wait for the winds to blow. 750 words at a time.
