This site is fantastic. I’ve taught Julia Cameron’s “The Artist’s Way”, and have seen the power of Morning Pages work to transform a group of people from uncertain and self-doubting to powerfully creative.

Even further, I’ve committed to reducing the amount of paper I use, and as an artist and writer this can sometimes feel like severing a limb. 750words.com makes my morning journaling not only green, but a fun adventure shared with other creative souls.

I feel very fortunate to have come across 750 Words. I love the simplicity of the idea and of the interface. I’ve always bought lovely journals, and have at times filled them to the brim. I’m happy to have those in a box in my basement, but frankly, I can type faster than I can write so I would often neglect my handwritten journals for the computer anyway. I love sitting down at my laptop and letting go of whatever’s in my head. It takes about 10 minutes and I feel refreshed afterward, like my brain has taken a shower. Sometimes I even understand something better than I did before. Thanks, Buster, for such a great idea and lovely execution.

Celebrating 100,000 words today! Woohoo! Before I started using 750words I never would have attempted to do that or even thought that I could achieve it. But I love, love, love those virtual badges! Seeing them all lined up on my status page makes me smile,so silly isn’t it? :) Thanks buster for creating this site.

It might be neat to have greater context on the “today” page… like headlines from the local newspaper or other things that might be useful fodder for writing… maybe even include these top stories as inspiration for writing, and then again, capture them on the Today page?

I like to go back in time over my writing and think about what was happening around me on that day — like a personal almanac. Seems like a good way to enhance the Today page to me anyway.

In particular, the leading on the Buendia font is awkward — whenever I type a single quote character (or similar character) at 18px, it bumps the current line down 1-2 pixels. It’s a minor but consistent annoyance.

While exporting to a textfile is a great, simple solution, I’d love to automatically sync my texts to a 750 Words folder in my Dropbox account. That’d be automatic, straight-forward, and would provide great piece of mind — and let me edit my texts in iPhone apps like Plaintext.

One of the many things I appreciate about doing 750 Words is that this is space that I don’t have to worry about length, depth, coherence, or making sure that it’s locked. I’ve had an online journal and blog for quite some time now, but I’m usually concerned with one of the above. Many of my 750 entries have turned INTO blog entries, but that’s not my primary focus, and so many times, it feels much more real and present than if I were to try and write about the same topic. Thank you for this space to just clear my brain and find the gems that are hidden there.

I’m not sure when the points get tabulated in relation to the reminder email getting sent out. Seems as though the top writers in my daily email consistently have 9 more points than I do — are they from my time zone? Are they a day ahead of me? Might be nice to have something that ranks just the folk in your own time zone, so you don’t constantly feel a day behind….

Happy Holidays, Buster. This site is a lifesaver for mental health and professional productivity. I’m about to visit a certain dissertation adviser today, and whether he says good things or bad things about what I’ve written, I’ll be back here to keep working tomorrow!

750words.com has had an amazing, unexpected affect – it’s helped me to become a more efficient, productive and more effective problem-solving copywriter. In short, it’s helping me make more money at what I do best – write! All because I’m starting each day (the minute I jump out of bed, in fact) jump-starting my brain. A “cup of patronage” is fitting here, because 750words.com is giving me a double espresso-start to my day!

I faltered after more than 130 straight days, but my failure is a success, for now I have developed the daily habit, and missing a day here and there doesn’t matter. 750words gave me the momentum to win NationalNoovelWritingMonth, which gave me the momentum to explore my notes and explore my imagination and write write write. Thank you, Buster, as I once again climb the hill toward a 200-day streak.

It feels great to be writing again. Your site is so friendly and whimsical — I am surprised at how “usually non-competitive me” is completely jazzed and motivated by those crazy badges!
The first few days, I was watching the word counter and doing a lot of padding to get to 750. Then, the other day, I was so deeply into my thoughts that I didn’t notice the pop-up saying I had hit 750. I blew right through it and stopped at over 900. Wouldn’t have believed that was possible a few weeks ago.
Clearing out the mind junk on 750words really helps ideas to flow later in the day — good ideas! I’m recommending you to all my friends, whether they consider themselves to be writers or not. Who doesn’t love flamingos?

My 100th day streak and here I am, on the brink, at 690 words. Who would have thunk it. This morning, still in bed, I mused about what I would write on such an auspicious occasion. Perhaps an inspiring note for the other 750’s.
My husband expresses amused exasperation at my enthusiasm when I tell him how excited I am that I am writing for my 100th day in a row!
And now I am there!
Pause.
“That’s so silly,” he laughs when I tell him of the Phoenix Badge within my grasp.
“Yes, it is,” I agree.
I don’t have words for the feeling, the significance. Not for him, not for myself, not for anyone.
I close my eyes, place my fingers on the keyboard, and rise out of the ashes.

After spontaneously beginning 750 words, each day I returned, and today I have written over 100,000 words and have a 100 day streak. I feel free to let it go and free to keep going. I most appreciate the objective record of my discipline, how easy it has been to return here each day and do this, and the space to objectify the many thoughts that are always bubbling. I have faith that this is helping me in more ways than I can say. Thank you so much.
