The Good Patrons of 750 Words

I used to be really undisciplined about my writing habits. I could go through phases of writing daily for 20 or 30 days and then not write again for a year. Although I’ve only properly started using 750words.com in the past year, it’s made a huge difference in my writing; even if I do mostly use the site as a brain dump. I wanted to build and maintain the habit because I’m nearing the end of my creative writing degree so I also use it for mini freewrites from time to time.
I’ve referenced this site more times than I can count in my academic work too! My magpie-lust for badges is keeping me going (because deep down I want to get the 365-day badge and then some) and has helped me build a writing habit and hold myself accountable by completing the month-long challenges.
