The Good Patrons of 750 Words

A Note of Inspiration from Monica Harris

I passed the Million Word mark a few months ago and after almost 4 years, I have decided to step down from this online writing platform so that I can return to writing in my journal the old fashioned way, with a pen on paper. I will miss tapping out my thoughts about the world and about my day to day life. I view these daily words as a form of therapy that has helped me feel grounded in my daily work as a teacher, single mom, and artist. I have been writing in a journal since I was 18 years old, but have never quantified my words the way I did while faithfully logging in to 750 words each morning. I loved earning badges and keeping up my writing streak. It was motivating to see my name listed with all of the other writers around the globe who had completed their words for the day. I am thankful for the support and sense of community I felt with 750 Words. I will be sending good wishes to everyone who diligently logs in each day to write their words. Keep up the good work! The world is made more peaceful and whole when people like you and me take the time to reflect, dream, and transform our lives through writing. I will continue my practice each morning “unplugged” with the retro technology of pen and paper! The best to you always!
