The Good Patrons of 750 Words

A Note of Inspiration from NocturnalRites

100 cups

Today is a day that I wasn’t sure I’d ever reach: my 1000 day streak.

I know many others have hit this milestone, but it was especially rewarding to me. I find routines difficult as it is and I tend to put off things that I enjoy because there’s so many other things that need attention. Prior to 750words (and particularly, the streak goals) it was not uncommon for me to neglect my writing for days at a time. Unfortunately, for me, writing is like physical exercise. Every time I take a hiatus, my body creaks and groans and my normally easy routine is a slog. The same happens mentally for my writing.

Thanks to 750words, though, I’ve got a reason to put my butt into a chair every day and tap out the words. It’s not always writing that furthers a story; in fact, I’m often just dumping the bilges or venting or writing down some thoughts about the day. Still, it keeps writing at the forefront of my mind, where it needs to be, and it keeps my commitment going.

So, thank you, Buster and Kellianne, for providing this outlet. It’s been a huge help to me. Here’s to another 1000 days!
