The Good Patrons of 750 Words
A Note of Inspiration from Karen Kowalski Singer
I’m so thankful for 750 words and start every day with what has become a practice that I love. After morning meditation, I open up 750 words and write — whatever is in my heart, on my mind — and I find I am present to my life and this is a daily process. It’s so much a habit now that I probably don’t NEED the 750 words website, but I stay because this practice is so nurturing and comforting and sets up my every day for whatever is to come and lets me review whatever has gone on before. It helps me plan my day and my week and my life; it helps me see my patterns.
At first I needed the perks of the site — the badges and the emails and the little encouraging notes and bits. I reached 2.5 million words and have been doing this for over 2 years. If the internet went away, I would still sit down and write every morning, but I like knowing there’s a community of writers unknown to me who are also writing every day.
