The Good Patrons of 750 Words

A Note of Inspiration from Patron Liene Verzemnieks

In January, I started writing because it seemed like fun, and anytime I’ve taken a Buster idea and run with it, it has made my life better. Things were rocky and weird and I was tired of unloading everything on hapless bystanding friends.

And along came a love affair with 750words. I’ve been preaching the gospel to anyone who’ll listen, anyone whose brain is too noisy to get things done, writers, artists, office people, students, everyone.

I’ve missed two days since then — one in the beginning, before I realized The Gravity Of Said Decision, and one in February’s Challenge, which was crushing. But every day I write, I take the mental chatter down a notch. And that, to me, is a gift more precious than I knew I could give myself every single day.

Plus, it’s gotten me in the habit of being early for work, so I can sit down and write first thing. I’d been trying every trick in the book for that one, but it was 750words, of all things, that made it happen.
