The Good Patrons of 750 Words

A Note of Inspiration from Brook West

1 cup

My internet service went down late last night, and I hadn’t yet written my day’s words. I told myself that it was okay. Yes, I’d end my month-long streak and lose the April challenge, but it wasn’t that big of a deal. All that stuff’s just for kicks. I would write my entry in a word processor and be pleased that I had maintained my commitment to what was really important: the act of daily writing.

Then I got in my car, drove to my grandma’s house, and wrote my entry on the curb in front of her house, where my laptop just barely picked up her wifi signal. Dear universe: you’ll have to pry my Albatross out of my cold, dead hands.
