The Good Patrons of 750 Words

A Note of Inspiration from John Woods

750 Words was there for me when I was at my lowest. I was in the middle of my undergrad, struggling with mental illness at the time, and my sister had found this site and recommended it to me. I signed up, and then the next day 750 Words started charging new members to join and I received a free life time membership. I took this as a sign that writing would be good for me, and for my mental health. Whenever I was struggling, whenever I was so caught up in my head with self-deprecating thoughts that I could not tell what was true or not, I was able to go on to 750 and write out whatever I was thinking. I found that just by putting down what was in my head on to a screen, I was able to separate myself from my illness, even if it was just for a little bit. This helped me tremendously. And it helped me process through so much emotional baggage. I do not use the site all that much anymore, but I know it is here for me when I need it.
