On the eve of my fall from albatrossdom, I am writing to acknowledge how the prospect of a new badge appearing near my name (I am, despite my best judgment, eager to earn not only my phoenix, but my pterodactyl… ) has gotten me to write when I didn’t want to, has helped me to get motivated to clear the cruft from between my ears so that I can write the “good stuff” and has yielded a more creative and productive me. And next week when I return to civilization (and the internet), I will begin anew and grow my pterodactyl from an egg…
