Speaking of books, I really like The Organized Mind by Daniel Levitin. 750 words has helped me organize my naturally-very-messy mind for more than 3 years now. I value the way 750 words helps me to clear my mind of “things to remember” (because writing them down here means I can access them later.) It also provides a low-risk space for writing quick drafts of plans, emails, even the occasional poem or essay. Not being distracted by formatting choices makes the transition from thought to writing much quicker, at least for me.
