I took part in Camp NaNoMoWri in July. I found that the monthly word count total of 50,000 words to a motivating goal. The website provided a paired bar graph of the number of words written so far that month and the number of words needed to be written to be on track to achieve the goal for the month.
It would be great to have a similar plot on the stats page. It would be even more useful if the user could enter a word total for the month. I was so inspired by my experience in July that I made a similar paired bar graph in an Excel spreadsheet. I passed 50,000 words in July, fell short by several thousand words in August, and just crossed the threshold in September. I am setting my daily goal in October a little higher so that I cross the 50,000 word mark l before the end of the month and any unforeseen interruptions.
