The Good Patrons of 750 Words
A Note of Inspiration from Crystal Harris
About a decade ago I was introduced to the Artist’s Way and morning pages, and I was so scared by the idea of meeting my shadow and exploring my mind at this level of intimacy that I put the book away for about 5 years. Fast forward in life, I attended a writing retreat and the subject came up, and I thought “I own that book; I should read it.” The speaker at this event also was an early member of 750 words, and he raved about this as the idea place for writing his pages. So I am writing this note to say thanks to that presenter (name long forgotten) for introducing me to this priceless tool that has become one of my favorite rituals. For one thing, I met myself hear in these pages. So many great ideas and solutions have come through me as a result of this practice. I am equally grateful to all those who have a part in maintaining its existence. As I turned 50 this year, I returned to 750 words and morning pages with a vengeance and a level of commitment that has surpassed even my own expectations. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
