The Good Patrons of 750 Words

A Note of Inspiration from Patron Warwick Paul Onyeama

10 cups

Today I have reached a personal milestone: I have written one million words since starting on this site over two years ago. And to celebrate this feat, I am donating ten cups of patronage to the site. The exercise has completely changed my sense of purpose. I now know that it is possible for me to become a creative writer. I could never have formed such a vision before I started on this site and now have a habit of doing it first thing after waking up. My typing skills are still rubbish but that doesn’t matter. I simply go through it at the end and correct all the typos. And this is what i have learned by this experience: form the habit of getting up early to do the page. That’s when the creative source is most readily accessed. And then, don’t stop at 750 words a day. Make a thousand words daily the minimum. It soon mounts up and before you realise it, you are soaring through the badges to Space Bird. As a famous statesman once counselled, “Never give up! Never, never, give up!”
