The Good Patrons of 750 Words

For years I’ve struggled to maintain a regular writing schedule. Oh I had lots of ideas, but I never seemed to take the time to write them down anymore. I tried legal pads, fancy journals too pretty to write in, online journals, offline journals, you name it, I’ve tried it.

Then I saw a post about 750 Words and thought I’d try it.

This site changed everything for me. Was it the streaks? The badges? These Notes of Inspiration I’d rush to read after each session? I couldn’t tell you, but I am proud and humbled to say that I have written every single day since November 1, 2012.

Sure I’ve broken streaks when I forgot to upload my words by midnight or gotten confused by time zone changes, but hundreds of thousands of words got written. A children’s novel, a non-fiction book, outlines, countless stories and journal entries. And who knows what else will show up in my daily pages. I will soon discover it, 750 words at a time. I’m so psyched. :-)
