The Good Patrons of 750 Words

I’ve been writing, off and on, for the past ten years or so, morning pages, those pages from The Artist’s Way. But at some point, I fell off . . . and stopped writing. But lately, I felt the need to write, to work out some projects (plays, screenplays) that I’m working on, and some emotional stuff, and sitting down to write in a journal isn’t working. Coming here to write, to write those 750 words, has helped me to develop my work, and to creatively work through my own issues (as well as those of my characters), and do it easily. I took the April challenge and, on the second day of the month, I put off writing all day until all of a sudden I remembered I needed to write but it was too late. It was the next day. I beat myself up a bit, and then moved on. I’ve now had four days in a row and I’m determined to make writing my 750 words a creative habit. And I look forward to writing tomorrow.

As silly as the badges are, I have to thank you for them. They are incentives and it’s good to see them accumulating . . . well, when I see them accumulate.
