The Good Patrons of 750 Words

A heavy workload followed by a bad case of the flu threw me off my first attempt to do a kind of NaNoWriMo here back in November. And then I fell out of practice. Now I am back because I have grown addicted to the sheer pleasure of writing that I cultivated throughout 2012. I’ve missed it.

I just bought some cups of patronage before I read about the changes that are coming, but I am fine with that. I love the single focus of this site. I have Evernote, for example, which is suggested as a free alternative, but I like exactly what I get here: a blank page and a ticker to tell me right off how many words I have written. On days when I am “in the flow”, I am amazed at how much I can produce in a short time. On days when my mind is a blank, it becomes a game to see what I can write to make it to 750. 750words provides the right amount of subtle reminder for me.
