The Good Patrons of 750 Words

A Note of Inspiration from Jeanette Cameron

I love this site! I learned about it near the end of July and now have 50 days in my streak. I have never been able to be consistent in my writing except for long, long ago in my late teens and early 20s. Now I’m a working wife and mother, so my time is extremely limited and writing has been an ongoing challenge for me. Because I am an introvert, writing provides me with a mental space to process my days and experiences. 750words provides me with motivation and reminders to write. Writing the minimum of 750 words usually takes a minimum of 15 minutes, and I often continue writing for a little longer. I don’t have the time to write as long as I’d like on many occasions, but I do walk away with a feeling of accomplishment on a daily basis. I can clear my head and re-claim some mental space to add new experiences or notice new things. A bonus is that I can download my journaling from 750words at the end of every month. I don’t know when I might read my ramblings again, but I have looked at old journals many, many years later and enjoyed the experience. I’m not good at photo-journaling or recording events for my kids, but somewhere in the midst of my rambling, perhaps one day my kids can piece together their childhoods and different events in the course of our lives should I ever succumb to a condition that deprives them of my memories otherwise. I hope that this site inspires and motivates you to write. Though it may seem unimportant to write on a given day, write about how unimportant writing seems to be that day. I’m sure it will unlock something else for you and move you forward. Many blessings to you and to your writing!
