Every year since time began, I pledge to write every day as a New Year’s Resolution. Thanks to this site, this is the first year that I’m on my way to fulfilling that pledge. Being a nerd who loved being graded, the badges are a huge motivation! When I was doubled over with the flu, I dragged myself to the computer in between bouts of being sick so I could ‘get my words in’ and keep up my streak. I even snuck in time to do my words while I was traveling and on vacation. The daily practice, no matter what drivel comes out, has helped me become a better writer, and certainly more disciplined. This is exactly what I’ve needed.
