The Good Patrons of 750 Words

A Note of Inspiration from Justin Weatherman

I’m currently taking a break from my NaNoWriMo novel (i.e. procrastinating), so I thought this would be a good time to finally get around to writing a little note here.

I first started writing here back in September. I was directed to the site via a twitter friend. I immediately fell in love with the concept and I’ve written every day since. I wasn’t here to sign up for the September challenge, but I’ve completed October’s and am well on my way to completing November’s as I’m writing my NaNoWriMo novel here (I need that badge).

The badge system is brilliant motivation, the stats provided are fascinating, and overall, the site’s just very pleasant and easy to use, which makes it so easy to keep coming back.

Writing consistently has been a life vest for me. I was in a real bad spot prior to joining, but through writing here as well as at a separate blog each day, I was able to work through things by getting them out in front of me. I’m grateful for this site’s existence and its ability to draw me in and get me to write.

Honestly, before joining 750 words I wasn’t much of a writer. I did a little bit here and there on the subject of video games, but I never took writing very seriously. But look at me now. I’m writing a novel in the span of just 30 days for NaNoWriMo. How did that happen exactly? All I know is that I’m enjoying writing. I’d almost venture to say it’s a legitimate hobby of mine at this point, and I have 750 words to thank for that.

Thank you.
