The Good Patrons of 750 Words

I stopped regularly a year ago, and the ideas in my head just kept building up. No longer can I now make excuses to put off getting these ideas down in words. I’ve tried writing in various places before – as notes on Facebook, as blog posts, as scribbles on sheets of lined paper tucked in long-forgotten places in my house – but there was barely a nag of motivation to drive my writing, and I had months-long lulls of no output. Here, I can force myself to write, no matter what the subject may be, and it seems to be helping me get over grumpy morning moods.

Granted, 750 words are a lot, and I had always feared that hitting the threshold for the day was going to be impossible. But sometimes, when you hit a barrier, and you just push a little bit past it, the road rolls smoothly…
